Where to buy a good quality and pretty door mat in the Seattle area?
Just bought a new home and not sure where to look for a good quality door mat which is also attractive. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I don't have a lot of time to look around. Thanks.

I highly recommend this ... http://www.amazon.com/Strathwood-Fiber-30-Inch-Doormat-Closed/dp/B001KOUDH0/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1248370091&sr=1-5&tag=aor-sale-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957 Product Description Greet guests before ever opening the door with an attractive and welcoming doormat. Available in a choice of styles for easy accessorizing, this doormat from Strathwood is an environmentally friendlier alternative made from natural coco fiber and recycled rubber. The bristled coco fibers stand up and grab dirt well. Designed to serve outdoors and withstand elements, the mat is durable as well as highly functional and attractive. Its rubber back ensures a no-slip grip for steady footing, and it's very easy to clean. Offering ample foot space, the mat measures 18 by 30 inches. Peruse the design styles available and buy one for each outdoor entryway for a coordinated look. This mat is made with nice long and very stiff brushes for catching and scraping dirt from you shoes. The rubber part is fairly thick and sturdy. The mat is heavey enough to stay put, it wont slide just because you step on it. The price is also reasonable. It will take a long time to wear out this product Hope you like it. Good Luck!

What's the difference between being a door mat and what I call being a "tear bucket?"?
I'm a guy who has a reputation for being a "good listener." I have a few female friends who I consider myself to be close with. But all they ever seem to talk about is themselves. Their problems, their doubts, their quarrels with other women--in short--their drama. I feel like they only see me as a source they can use to dump all of their crap into to make themselves feel better and, quite frankly, this depresses me. Am I considered a door mat? I call myself a tear bucket because all these female friends of mine seem to do is cry on my shoulder and I'm getting pretty tired of it. There's never any reciprocation and my problems are never as important as theirs. The subject is always changed and the focus is always placed back on their situation. Basically, I'm asking for a good describer for what I am to these women? A better term? i.e. "door mat"; "punching bag"; etc. Thanks. Addendum: This has nothing to do with my wanting to have a romantic relationship with them. I happen to be a gay male; and perhaps that's also a reason why they find it easy to confide in me. It just gets a little old and there's never anything good enough for me to contribute. They never take my advice (although they always beg for it) and they only come around when their world is crumbling (exaggerated, I know...but that's how they'd make it seem.)

You're nothing to these women.

Will a door mat with a latex non-slip backing cause discoloration of a laminate floor that it's placed on?
I just put down a new laminate floor in my office and want to put a door mat at the entrance for people to wipe their feet on, especially needed when it rains. The guy who put down the floor told me that rubber will cause discoloration of the laminate; but pretty much every mat that I've looked at has a rubber, non-slip backing. Any ideas?

you mean if you put a latex non-slip backing door mat on top of a laminate floor, will the laminate floor lose its color? i'm not sure.

What is the best adhesive to stick a rubber door mat to concrete?
I just bought a new rubber door mat from Lowe's and remembered the guy with the leaf blower at my building always blow everything in his path away. this is the reason everyone on the second level at our apt still have there mat and no one on the ground level has one. I would prefer a spray adhesive. do they have this or should i go with a two sided tape. Thanks for all help

Hi Double sided tape will not last that long, you best use a silicon sealer using a sealer gun, or you could try use one of the many contact adhesive it all depends on the material used to make you mat is it real rubber or a plastic substitute? ask at Lowes and get the right adhesive to do the job, I would also consider if practical putting an heavy weight at both sides of the mat . cheers Bob a job
