I need to make a peephole for my door with home materials, any ideas?
I have looked it up and I only get things such as "make a new camera lens out of fish eye lens which is in door viewers, as many of you know them as. I also do not want to put it IN my door, as to there is a window on my door perfect for placing a door viewer over, just how do I make one? Please answer, I need help, and no mean answers or I will report you. Thanks

if you have a window, i would just go to home depot and buy a two-way mirror so you can see through, but they cant and hang it over the window. much cheaper than building something.

Is there a way to sound proof my door using household materials?
I like to listen to music in my room, and, unfortunately, "hokey f***ing pokey", "die mother f***er die" and other stuff isn't stuff I want my parents to hear me listening to. Right now, my door lets a ton of sound through. How can I fix this? I can find stuff like rubber mats, insulation etc lieing around, but I can't get ahold of anything professional. Thanks in advance!=)

1) Start with a layer of your rubber mats. 2) Next layer, believe it or not is egg cartons. A lot of homemade recording studios use them. 3) If you want you can fill the egg cartons about half full of foam. 4) Make sure you cover the entire door and wall above and on each side of the door. 5) Music reverberates through all walls, including the ceiling, so if you want to cover all bases cover the ceiling near the door also. 6) The more wall space you cover the better you're going to sound proof the room. 7) Remember that this will also insulate your room and it may very well become warmer (will save money by keeping heat in during the winter and air conditioning in during the summer). 8) I would keep a fire extinguisher in your room as you have added some flammable items which weren't there before. What materials are best for Sauna door that opens to steam shower?
We're doing a residential bathroom where a 4'x6' Sauna Room opens up into a Steam Shower. I've heard it's best to avoid wood in the Steam Shower, but what can we do when the Sauna interior is Cedar, and the Steam Shower must be all glass & ceramic tile? Will a Wood Framed Glass Door hold up over time? Appreciate any advice anyone might have!

I expect a glass door with a frame made from cedar, cypress ,redwood or black locust would all do the job. The other option would be aluminum and glass though it will cost you. Have some space in the grooves that hold the glass panels so that the wood can expand and contract, they even make things called space balls that keep the panel centered in this type of situation.
